RAMONA HIGH SCHOOL WINS 2ND PLACE IN SKILLS USA COMPETITION AND A NEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON PRESENTED BY SAN DIEGO HARLEY

The Skills USA competition is a national contest with almost 100 different categories, ranging from 3D Animation to Nursing. The category that Ramona High School competed in was Motorcycle Service Technology.

Description of Motorcycle Service Technology
Contestants perform tasks representative of those encountered in a dealership’s service department. Technical skills include performing scheduled maintenance tasks; use of service, electrical diagnostic and parts manuals; electrical diagnostics; precision measurement; brake service; chassis/suspension service; fuel delivery system inspection and repair; transmission and drive systems; power train systems; on Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Judges will look for clean and organized work habits; correct use of reference materials; the ability to follow directions; and good technical skills.

As a dealership, Clint and D.A., our Shop Foreman and Service Manager, wrote the tests for the part of the competition that was performed at San Diego Harley. Clint and D.A. also set up several different test stations so the students could perform the tests with actual Harley-Davidson tools and parts.

Congratulations on achieving 2nd place in the Nation! In recognition of your hard work and this great accomplishment, we will proudly present your school a brand new Harley-Davidson®motorcycle for continued work in the program pertaining to Servicing Motorcycles. A date and time of this presentation at the Ramona High School will be announced by San Diego Harley-Davidson® soon.
